Book & Program Share-Out Highlights
- Programs
- San Francisco Public Library: Monthly teen photo scavenger hunts with sticker prizes. Youth Speak Teen Poetry Slam event in April.
- Berkeley Public Library: March Manga Madness
- San José Public Library: South Bay Opioid Addiction Group and local college provided training to teens on drug prevention, identifying overdose, and training on use of narcan. Each teen received a supply of narcan. Recent planting of oak trees at regional parks to reestablish native species in the area.
- Oakland Public Library: Teen advisory board is planning a monthly trivia after school program for middle schoolers. Middle schoolers enjoy trivia and crafts. Prizes include money and cars, ie: chocolate coins and HotWheels.

Teen Civic Engagement
- Presentation (PDF)
- Louise Yokoi described all of the teen friendly resources available on CalMatters.org that relate to political issues and civic engagement.
- Alameda County presented related resources.
- San José Public Library reviewed the San José Youth Commission and past program on assisting new/transitional adults (18-24yrs) on best practices on voting, what items on a recent ballot mean, and how to find resources to assist in voting.
